Inspections

Calling mare owners in Scotland

Do you have an Irish Draught filly or mare aged three years old or over for inspection this year?

We are holding a mare inspection near Linlithgow, West Lothian, on TUESDAY 25 JUNE 2024.

Thank you to the Hammon-Lee family for kindly allowing us to hold an inspection at their home.

Having your mare inspected, regardless of whether she is classified Class 1, Class 2 or Supplementary Grade-Up, will:

  • Identify any observable potentially heritable veterinary disorders;
  • Provided she passes the vet, enable you to show your mare as an adult in hand at our affiliated shows;
  • Entitle her progeny by Class 1/RID or Class 2 stallions to come forward for inspection in their own right, when they are old enough.

Full details of eligibility, the inspection process and terms and conditions, as well as the application form and phone contact details are all on our website at www.idhsgb.org.uk or obtainable by email from the email address below.

If you wish to apply, the cost is £240 inc VAT. The closing date for application forms and payment is 15 May. However, to assist us in planning and booking flights for our inspection colleague from Ireland, it would be very helpful if you could please let us know as soon as you can if you are considering applying for this venue. Please email inspections@idhsgb.org.uk for more information.

This venue also welcomes Class 1/RID mares with foals at foot by Class 1 or RID stallions for possible Hornby Premiums.

Details of our other venues and inspection dates around the country will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.
