Statement from the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB)

The IDHS (GB) regrets that due to recent inaccurate and malicious posts and the use of suspected fake Facebook accounts for political ends, we have made the difficult decision to make this page an announcement-only page.

This is not to inhibit our members’ and supporters’ freedom of speech, but to protect the Society and our membership from individuals and groups who are determined to disrupt our work and cause distress.

We refuse to allow our official news page to be used as a political platform by any external organisation, nor will we allow the Society’s Council, or our members, to be intimidated.

We continue to host two Facebook pages:

1. This page is for Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) information and press releases;

2.  We also have our moderated Facebook group page at

(https://www.facebook.com/groups/928909631249104/), which is a friendly community where supporters of our breed can interact safely.

We always welcome open conversations with our members and others who genuinely want to share information or ask questions.

Please be assured that we will continue to work in the best interests of all our members and of the Society as a whole. To this end, we have to ensure that all information on this, our news site, is current and factual.

We have referred the false allegations and online trolling to our regulatory bodies.

By far the best way to find out the correct situation regarding our registration and inspection rules is to look at our web site at www.idhsgb.org.uk, or email a trustee direct if you have a specific question. We will do our best to respond promptly.
